Danilo Ferro
Italy · New York Music Award Winner 2026 Season 1
Danilo Ferro was born in Vittoria (RG) on 27 August 1987 and began his musical studies at a very young age under the guidance of Maestros Giovanna Rizza and Massimo Leonardi. He attended numerous advanced training courses with leading figures from the musical world, including Margarius, Delle Vigne, Perticaroli, Frisina, Franco Battiato, Bruno Canino, Ezio Bosso, Beppe Vessicchio, Andrea Morricone, Morgan, and Geoff Westley.
In 2013 he obtained his First-Level Academic Diploma, and in 2015 his Second-Level Academic Diploma in Piano at the “V. Bellini” Conservatory of Catania, studying under Prof. Cristina Zago. In 2019 he earned a First-Level Academic Diploma in Composition at the “A. Scarlatti” Conservatory of Palermo under the guidance of Maestros Marco Betta and Fabio Correnti.
In April 2019 he participated in the national composition competition “Amigdala,” where he placed third and received the award for Best Arrangement. He also placed third in the international competition organized by the “F. Schubert” Conservatory of Vienna. In November 2021 he completed a course in music therapy in Seville.
In January 2022 he published (in 2021) a basic guide for children learning the piano, entitled Dino Canterino, published by Baglieri Editrice. In 2022 he published the theory book Enarmonia, released by Book Sprint Edizioni. He has composed several chamber and symphonic music works.
On 31 December, he conducted the Calabria Philharmonic Orchestra in Giardini Naxos (Nike Park) for the Grand New Year’s Eve Concert.
In March 2024 he obtained a First-Level Academic Diploma in Orchestral Conducting at the Palermo Conservatory under the guidance of Maestros Carmelo Caruso, Antonino Pierpaolo Fogliani, and Giuseppe Crapisi. He released a sacred music album entitled Consolatore Perfetto, published by the cultural association Dodekafonia.
In October 2024 he earned a First-Level Master’s Degree in Chamber Music organized by the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and taught by soloists from Teatro alla Scala. He is the founder of the polyphonic choir “Dodekafonia.”
In May 2024 he conducted the Dodekafonia Orchestra and Choir at the “V. Colonna” Theatre in Vittoria for the concert entitled Il Canto della Terra. In January, he conducted the Dodekafonia Polyphonic Choir and Symphony Orchestra at the Naselli Theatre in Comiso. In March 2025 he published the collection Armonie Sacre, released by the publishing house Momenti Musicali of Ribera.
He is currently completing a Second-Level Academic Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Nocera Terinese under the guidance of Maestro Filippo Arlia.
In June 2025 he conducted the orchestra at the international festival “Accordion Week” in Nocera Terinese and won several composition awards, including the World Classical Music Awards, World Artistry Music Award, Carl Reinecke, Francesca Lebrun, Berlioz, Best Classical Musicians Awards 2025, and New York Music Award 2026, with the piece Il Viaggio. He also conducted a concert in Praia a Mare (CS) on the occasion of a masterclass with Andrea Morricone.
