Kingston Zicheng Pu
New Zealand· New York Music Award 2026 Season 2 Winner
Kingston Zicheng PU was born in 2013, New Zealand. He first started learning piano at the age of 8 with Steinway Artist - Mr. Jason Bae and continuing his studies with him until present day.
Since then, Kingston has won numerous awards in international piano competitions including the first prize winner of the 2026 International Music Competition “Berlin” Grand Prize Virtuoso leading to his debut at the Kammermusiksaal of the Philharmonie in Berlin early this April.
He is the Gold Medalist the 2026 US-Canadian International Music Competition - Piano and has also received the Premiere Prix of 2026 Nouvelles Étoiles Concours International de Jeunes Musiciens de Talent, Platinum prizes in 2026 Ravel Award International Music Competition, 2026 Schubert International Music Competition, 2026 Saint-Saëns International Music Competition, 2026 Carl Reinecke International Music Competition, 2026 Couperin International Music Competition, 2026 Erik Satie International Music Competition, 2026 Haydn Young Musician Competition UK, 2026 Mozart International Music Competition, “Absolute First Prize” at 2026 Concours International de Musique Jean-Philippe Rameau - Piano, 2026 UK International Music Competition, 2026 Vivaldi International Music Competition, 2026 Clementi International Music Competition, First prize in 2026 Bach International Music Competition, Gold Prizes in 2026 Beethoven Award International Music Competition, 2026 Global Young Musicians Competition, 2026 London Young Musician and 2026 New York Music Award.
During the pandemic, he was also awarded 3rd Prize at the 2023 XIV Savshinsky International Music Competition in Sweden and Consul General Award in 2022 Chopin Avenue International Piano Competition.
Message on Receiving the Award
Thank you so much for this honour. I feel incredibly grateful to receive the Gold Prize at the New York Music Awards 2026. This means a great deal to me, and it reflects not only my own efforts, but also the support and encouragement I’ve been lucky to have along the way. I’d like to sincerely thank my family, my school, and my teacher for always believing in me and supporting me throughout this journey. I truly couldn’t have done this without them.
